I would like to link the whole column (splide carousel item) to a url – is there a way to do this?

Hmm not out of the box but that is a good idea, I will look into how difficult it would be to implement this when I have some free time.

In the meantime maybe you could try this plugin and add the link to a group?

No problem. I installed some code as a work around but would be a cool feature for future.
