split center column into two – NewsPoint theme

Hi,

Anyone have an idea of how to split a center column into two columns – similar to the way it’s done in http://www.theblaze.com/ ? I’m using the theme “NewsPoint” found at http://newwpthemes.com/wordpress-theme/newspoint/. My blog is http://csucrisis.com/. I want to split the column below the featured post slideshow into 2 equally wide columns that convey different posts (not just a continuation of a single post like in a newspaper).
