Tag splitting is on my to-do list but it is not prioritized at the moment.
Hi this is a fantastic plugin and it just work out the box.
I spent a whole day trying to get this to work to no avail and landed up here.
THis seems like quote an important feature thats missing. Is their any code i can use to get Better WordPress Google XML Sitemaps to split tag site maps ?
I think the plugin is fantastic and this is definitely one of this “sol close but so far situations “

This feature is indeed requested by many users but I’m still finding a way to make it efficient (most users who requested have more than 50k tags, and expect to scale up to 1m).

Do you think it could scale to 2m or even 3 million tags ?
For site maintenance this may truly shape up to be most important plugin on our wordpress site as its coded so well and has tons more features and customisable features by one of a similar name that has no where near as much expandability as this beast.

I think the plugin should be able to scale up to much more than that depending on your server.
The server is quite strong and Im even more excited as I thought the 1 million tag limitation was from yourself but if your saying that it could push out more if the juice was available then thats incredible.
If this was available then I think you would see usage of this plugin rocket as its just such clean code and operation.
i understand you must have a million things to do to make it work and if you manage to crack it then all kudus to you !!

1m is expected by some users who requested this feature, not from me actually :).
Any feature that is wanted by the community will always be considered, it’s just a matter of time.
I couldn’t wait and through trial and error, I found a plugin on WordPress called Strictly Google Sitemap on WordPress that works out the box and split large sites up. Its not supported anymore so hope it works on your setup.
That looks like a neat plugin, I will see if there are useful features that can be incorporated into BWP GXS.
Its stable and works out the box and throws up all the tags as needed – the developer is quite happy to adhere to the open source mindset and i think if you are able to use some functionality and improve on things then you may be onto a winner.
A month on an Strictly Google Sitemap is working great. I think if you integrate its quick database code and some other features you will hit gold.
