• Running WordPress 6.8.3

    Plugins installed:

    • Childify Me (1.3.0)
    • Divi Blog Extras (2.7.0)
    • Divi Booster (4.12)
    • Multiple Post Passwords (1.1.3)
    • Rank Math SEO (1.0.257)
    • W3 Total Cache (2.8.14)

    Troubleshooting steps:

    • Cleared site cache between password updates and allowed 30 minutes to pass
    • Not only did the secondary password not work, but neither did the primary password when a secondary password was set.
    • When a secondary password was set, the page would refresh to the same password entry splash. This happened whether pressing enter to submit the password or clicking the submit button.
    • Tried on multiple browsers and access was not consistent. It worked once on the first try but that appeared to be a fluke; 99% of the time, no browser worked in repeated tests with complete browser/cache clearing between tries.
    • Unticked setting for using alternative password check in Plugin settings; passwords seem to work on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge now. Only one of the two pages worked on DuckDuckGo; BioOne page would not let either password in. I’m not sure what could cause this.

Am I missing something in troubleshooting that could cause it to stop working on specific browsers?

Disabling the alternative password check fixed this in most browsers, but the remaining problem is baffling to me.

In this instance, once that alt. password check was unticked, other browsers worked just fine. Both pages had the same primary and secondary password, but only one page allowed entry in DuckDuckGo.

Hi @deciduouslypressed and thanks for your report.

Can you tell me which PHP Version you have active on your webhost?

It seems that newer versions make problems.

However I´ll try to fix that as soon as I can.
