Can anyone provide any help?
Thanks!
Hey David,
Thanks for writing to us. We’re happy to help however we can. Can you provide us a bit more detail so we can look into things for you?
Can you give us the following details?
- Version of our plugin
- Version of WordPress
- Your web host
- Which particular step in using MailChimp appears to be failing? What piece of functionality are you trying to get working when you see that error?
That additional information can help us out quite a bit.
Thanks,
Gabe
Absolutely.
Version 1.3 mailchimp plugin
Wordpress version 3.7.1
https://www.abjphoto.com hosted with godaddy
The step that fails is I install the plugin, then the very first step of the plugin is to “Connect to MailChimp” in which it asks you for your mailchimp username and password. After I put in my user and pass is when it fails and I see the above SSL error.
Thanks!
David
Hey there,
I’m looking into this issue a bit further on my end, so I’ll be sure to reply back here once we get a bit more info. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks. I got your email about an out of date SSL cert and I reached out to godaddy about it and they do not see any SSL issues. I just bought the cert a few weeks ago so it is not expired and you can check the validity of the cert here: http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=abjphoto.com
Any ideas on what POST your plugin is trying to make that is failing at the SSL layer?
Also, just FYI, I just updated the Mail Chimp plugin to v1.4.1 and I am still experiencing the same issue.
Hey hey,
Thanks for the follow up David. I had edited my post a bit after making it, since I discovered some info that perhaps it’s not something specific to your host, so sorry about any confusion (though I appreciate you having checked with godaddy on that). I hope to get a bit more info in the coming days so I can provide some help!
Any update or any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks for your help!
David
Hey David,
Can you send me an email at mailchimptk[at]gmail.com? This’ll let us communicate a bit faster than through the forum. Thanks!

Was there any resolution to this? I am experiencing the same issue now.
Thanks.
Hi, I’m experiencing the same issue.
My website is LivingtheGourmet.com. I can’t seem to sync accounts, but I am not getting an error report.
Thank you!
No. Resolution was to use a pop-up plugin.
Hey trevorjfitz and LivingtheGourmet,
Thanks for swinging by the forum.
This would actually be a slightly older ticket, and we try to handle each unique situation in its own thread. Can you each go ahead and create a new thread that includes any relevant error messages, along with the version of WP and plugin?
Have a good one, and we’ll keep an eye out for your replies!
