Yes I use Google Chrome. The green padlock disappears when opening iThemes Security settings in the backend, and the console gives the error message.

I also am often getting a “404 page not found” error when trying to access the backend, after turning on SSL for the backend and login in the iThemes Security settings…

With “console” you are probably referring to the Google Chrome browser “Javascript console”.

Anyway this is a known bug. Duplicate of this topic.

About the 404 … is that 404 sometimes happening when clicking on a Settings link as can be found in an iTSec plugin generated (lockout) email ?

This bug was fixed in the latest (5.3.4) release.

    According to the 5.3.4 Changelog:

Bug Fix: Updated the link to sign up for security guide download to point to a https address. This is better security and prevents warnings when submitting from a http site in some browsers.

As this issue has now been solved please take a moment and mark this topic as ‘resolved’.
