I may add shortcodes in the future, but for now there are no plans for that.

Other people should chime in if they want to see shortcodes. Personally, I’m not a big fan of them, as they remain around after a plugin is removed/deactivated.

I would vote heavily for shortcodes. One of the key reasons for shortcodes is to be able to place content in various spots on your site. While having a “staff” section is great, sometimes you might want to list a department or smaller group on another page.

An example might be if you have multiple office locations and want to show the list of team members at that site, or if you want to list a single team member in an article or otherwise and not have to duplicate the data production steps.

Lots of reasons that shortcodes can take a solid plugin and make it extremely flexible and useful to a group.

Another key reason for shortcodes is the templating conversation. Instead of building the entire page, shortcodes would allow the delivery of the staffing content within a specific area. Thus reducing the issues that might arise working with different frameworks and themes.

I would also love shortcodes, especially with the ability to display by department.

Definitely coming with the next update 🙂
