Hello Sue (@slcanderson20),
StaffList now uses its own role called “StaffList Editor”. By default, Administrators have the ability to edit StaffList, but if your WP role is not Administrator or StaffList Editor, you may not have access to the StaffList administrative tools.
Please verify that your account has this capability by going to: wp-admin > users
From this screen, you should be able to assign a user as either: Administrator or StaffList Editor, to regain access to StaffList on the backend.
Please let us know if you have any other difficulty using StaffList.
Thank you so much for your quick response to my question. Although I was quite certain that I am one of the 2 administrators on this “Go Daddy” WordPress site, I am still unsure how to access the back end code to modify the displayed data. I’m sorry to be bothering you with this. It used to be seen (obviously – since I was able to add the original data). Perhaps one of my recently installed plugins ended up taking if off of the listing on the left menu of the dashboard? Or is there somewhere else to look for it?
Thanks again,
Sue

Hello,
This has also happened on our installation of Stafflist. I am the admin for our site and edit the entries in the Stafflist plugin. The list is still displaying on the front-end, but the dashboard button has disappeared and when I go to the plugin URL (wp-admin/admin.php?page=stafflist) it’s saying I’m not allowed to access the page.
I have the latest version of WP (4.8.2) and Stafflist (2.3.5)
Please let me know what the fix is.
Thank you!

hello @intcreative, (and @slcanderson20),
We had recommended to the previous poster to: make sure that they had a full XLS or CSV of their Staff data first, and then deactivate and reactivate the plugin to force StaffList to recreate the required capabilities for use.
Because this appears to be a recurring issue, version 2.3.6 of the plugin now checks (and repairs) these roles & capabilities on initialization.
Please let us know if your issue is resolved after updating to the current release.

We believe the latest version (2.3.6) resolved your issue.
If you have any other questions, please do follow-up, and thank you for using StaffList.
Yes it did. StaffList has returned to my dashboard.
Thanks so much!
