Static Front or Sticky post?

Hello,

I am creating a simple blog and all I want is a single quicktime movie and comments, that’s pretty much it.

I tried creating a sticky pot for the quicktime movie, but then the blog only shows the title of the post, not the movie itself on the home page.

Then I tried creating a static front page and now I have the movie showing the way I want, but the comments are not on the static page.

I imagine there is a simple solution to this and I am hoping to get an idea of how to do this here?
