I’m using Simply Static to convert my blocksy site into a static site. However, the mobile menu doesn’t work after this conversion. Is this because of Simply Static, or is it because the menu isn’t static-friendy? Is there anyway I can get around this (whether that be using a different mobile menu or using a different means of getting a static site)?

    Hi parmesan102,

    Thanks for reaching out!

By transforming the websites into static, basic HTML pages, you can miss out on some functionality of any theme, not just Blocksy. Most WordPress themes nowadays implement dynamic functions into them that would simply not work with a static page.

If you wish to optimise the speed of your website, I personally recommend WPMU Dev’s suite, specifically Hummingbird and Smush. The free versions should have more than enough features for you and should get you great scores in Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

    Thanks,
    Eduard
