Statistics not working

Hi,

Apologies but I submitted the following (without images and further debugging) on your website before remembering this would be a better forum to get and share answers.

Statistics aren’t working for me at all other than showing the most visited articles and highest scores.

No searches or views and scores showing up in the graphical timeline with a time range where there definitely are searches etc. I’ve had the site set up for over a month (focused on other parts).

If I vote for an article I immediately see the results so I know at least some component of the statistics are working.

Latest version of all plugin, BasePress Pro, and WordPress.

We have 2 knowledge basses set up.

Have followed all the instructions and statistics are definitely turned on. Did the old on and off as well.

We’re hosting it on FlyWheel, getflywheel.com, and we’re currently working on the site in staging mode (no production yet). Not sure if that might somehow interfere with analytics processing?

I’ve also double check a local copy using Local (https://localwp.com) and have the same issues so don’t think it’s related to the server we have the staging site set up on.

Nothing in the logs for either staging or local.

As a side note, while I was debugging I ran into an article that broke somewhere along the way. It was one of the first ones I posted but now when I click on it BasePress displays the following (clickable list of section it’s contained in).

Deleting the rogue article didn’t fix anything. The article was created before we upgraded to Pro so don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

Any suggestions?

Hello again.

No sooner did I submit my issue than I noticed my date range was off for the screenshots. There is 1 day of view data that shows up in the graph but after July 17 it stops. The new score data I added today doesn’t show up either.

As mentioned before, I’ve done multiple searches and no data there, even on July 17 or earlier.

Hello again again.

Uncovered what may be a completely separate issue but suspect it’s related to my statistics problem.

I wondered if things would start working if I deleted one of the Knowledge Bases and found a few things happened.

I tried to just delete one KB with all it’s articles from the Manage KBs section. It deleted the KB but it turned all of the sections into KBs.

The linked files are misnamed because I just realized it was the sections, not the articles, that were promoted to KBs.

I was unable to delete these new KBs in the same way. I had to first delete the articles in them.

Here you can see the article inside a KB with its original section name.

Once I deleted the articles in the new KBs I could delete them.

Unfortunately, none of the above has changed my issues with statistics. I also switched BasePress to single KB mode and that didn’t help either.

Hi @aaev,

the plugin doesn’t log views for admin users.
Have you tested all those while logged in as an admin?
As you are using the Premium version and this forums should be used for free versions only, could you please open a support ticket from the plugin’s menu so we can help you from there.

Hi Elio,

That makes sense and yes, I was testing mostly as an admin user. Testing as a non-admin works as expected. That’s common analytics functionality and I just plain forgot that might happen.
