• Hi there,

Thanks a lot for this plugin, it works great and really helpful.

I have some strange stats though, and I’m not sure what could be the reason.

Quite often I have the “same user” visiting from different countries with different browsers.

Here is an example, one fingerprint for the “same” user coming first from Canada with Chrome browser and then coming from USA using Edge browser.

User can change country, no problem, but how it can be a different browser?

    Thank you.

  • Hello @qerghgfjkgk ,

Thank you for your kind feedback, we’re glad the plugin is helpful!

    Regarding your question:
While Slimstat’s fingerprinting system helps identify returning visitors, it’s not always 100% accurate.

The same fingerprint can sometimes appear with different browsers or IP addresses due to:

    • Similar device/browser configurations shared by different users
    • VPNs or corporate networks
    • Privacy tools that spoof device details

So it’s possible for two different sessions to be matched under the same fingerprint, even if the actual users or browsers differ.

Let us know if you have more questions ,we’re happy to help!

    Best regards,
    Mehmet

So, in my screenshot those are potentially two different users or not?

This kind of problem happens to me a lot, I don’t think this many people use VPN or privacy tools.

Don’t you use cookies as part of fingerprint? This should avoid having the same fingerprint for different browsers at least.
