Steps to create an App

    I am studying the App Builder, it seems cannot create database tables. In the Explorer it can only create table design, not the actual table. Is this the proper steps to create an app?

    1. In Explorer [Create table design]
    2. goto [Designer], select the design and create a table.
    3. Goto App builder, select [data administration] and the newly created table

    But in the data designer it said “This tool will be replaced by the new App Builder. Please migrate before summer 2025.” What should I do?

    Thanks for the post!

    You did everything correctly! For the note about Data Designer being replaced, I’ll have to check on Peter when he’ll add that function to the App Builder. I’ll let you know once I receive a response. 🙏

    For now, the legacy tools are still good to use. 😊

    Thank you.

    In [Data Designer] when I add new design, the column type can choose varchar. But after save it all changes to text and there is no varchar options. Please advice.

    Could you send us a screenshot of the Data Designer page? We just tested creating a new table and it all went OK for us.

    There is no varchar in column type.

    Hi @hkcccc,

    Are you on the latest version of WP Data Access?

    Varchar should be available on the list of column types.

    I am using 5.5.11 Premium lifetime edition.

    I deleted the table, re-created a new design and it worked!

    I am building up an app to join 2 tables in a many to many relationship:

    1. Contact – Master table of personnel (ID, Name, Tel, etc.)
    2. Position – Master table of company position (ID, Position, Department, Rank, etc.)
    3. Duty – relation table with start/end date to join Contact.ID and Position.ID

    After I created Contact and Positon, how to set up the Duty table?

    I deleted the table, re-created a new design and it worked!

    I am building up an app to join 2 tables in a many to many relationship: After I created Contact and Positon, how to set up the Duty table?

    You have to create the Duty table too, either via Designer or run the query via SQL Query Builder.
