It sounds like you might have it set to notify you whenever a comment is held in moderation. (“…waiting for your approval”).
Check the Discussions settings again, using this page for reference:

I am still getting loads of comment notification emails in my box even after turning it off under Settings-> Discussion->E-mail me whenever…
I still get something like this:
A new comment on the post “Post Title Goes Here” is waiting for your approval…….
How do I STOP them from coming.
