try Comments Firewall https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/comments-firewall/ to combat spammy comments, it just works. thank me later.

We are working in next release to add few more spam checks and that should solve the problem if it was posted by spam bots.

Even with spam protection enabled, a few junk comments slip through daily. Any advanced firewall option?
