• Hi,
I’m still stuck with the simple task of manually installing a wordpress blog. Got this error message-Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘sanitize_comment_cookies’ was given in /home/makesol1/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 339

Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Rewrite’ not found in /home/makesol1/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 661

I deleted everything from the public_html folder. Downloaded a new version of wordpress to my harddrive. Didnt configure the wp sample file. When I ran the install.php in my browser, the software created the wp-config.php file and i put in the database inf. left the wp prefix table entry as it was-wp_. I think. Then I went in and deleted the sampleconfig.php file sine the config.php file was created by the software. Thought I had it made, when I ran it got this error message above. I feel sorry for myself. Any help. been more than a week I;ve been emailing you and working on this. thanks.

  • Is this a local install or are you running WP on a remote server? If it’s the latter, are you sure that you’re uploading all files and folders? Only it sounds like you have missing files.

This is a local install; im running it from my computer. I dont understand how i wil be missing files. I downloaded it, extracted and ftp it to webserver. Did I do the right thing by letting the software create the config.php file after I inserted my database info and then delete the sample.php file?

No – the wp-config.php file should be fine. What server are you running this on? Have you reviewed http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/WordPress_Installation_Techniques#Installing_WordPress_Locally

I’m running it on justhost. I’m now confused as to whether it’s a local instaa or if I’m runnig it on a remote server. This is what im doing. downloading the zip file to my local drive, unzipping it, ftp all files using filezilla to my account with justhost. Is this a local install or remote one.

Sounds like remote site. Local install is all on your PC and you would be using regular file copy commands. Filezilla and FTP are all parts of a Remote site.
