Hi,
I’m sorry to hear that your images are not compressing correctly. We try to make the plugin as robust as possible, but of course there will always be unforeseen edge cases.
You seem to have run into one of these. As we would like to improve this in a future version of the plugin, it would be very helpful if we could further investigate it.
Would it be possible for us to have access to your WordPress installation and troubleshoot the issue? You can send an invite to [email protected] for this. If not, could you let us know when the issue occurs (with each upload or not?) and if you see any error messages?
The issue occurs when your server is overloaded, it has nothing to do with my installation and is certainly not an edge case.
You need to invest in better hardware and more bandwidth or offer a premium version that free users don’t have access to.
Thanks
At the time of your ticket, we were dealing with an issue in our infrastructure that resulted in reduced server capacity. We’re aware that these issues can occasionally result in failing compressions.
To improve this, we plan to work over the next months to gradually implement changes in our infrastructure that should further reduce the amount of errors.
Why not just restrict free access? Your service is great but waiting up 2 minutes for every image to process just isn’t good enough.
I keep bringing up this issue and you keep saying you’re improving but the real problem is your free tier is just too generous. If it were not for your main competitor having the same problems I would have left long ago.
Hi darrencss,
thanks for your feedback. We will be making some changes to our infrastructure very soon that will help with these spikes of compressions. We will definitely let you know once changes have been made!
