Please stop adding this unmatered, unwanted product adding and enforcing to the WordPress Core.

I know that tousands of developers, agencies, freelancers don’t want or need this in Core. And with dozens of them I had conversations about all that.
And millions (!) of users don’t want it anyways!

Let it live as plugin – free or premium doesn’t matter, up to you.

    Stop enforcing it on users!

Stop abusing the name of Johannes Gutenberg for this thing, by all means, please!

I’ve tested every major version of this “Gutenberg” plugin since around November of 2017 until today. I am not satisfied with the UI and the UX – it is just an unnatural feeling, not intuitive. To really test real life usage, I mirrored typical usage of my clients: adding pictures with text floating around on left or right – this is just not possible.

Or adding a PDF file in a comfortable way? Not possible. Way too many clicks, scrolling and “work” involved to do, only to achieve the simplest of tasks.

Again, stop promoting and enforcing it on users. Let it live as a plugin for at least 2 more years. After that, we might have a fresh conversation on anything.

    Thanks.

Firstly, thanks for taking time to leave a review as the product is worked on all reviews are important. It’s also worth noting that right now what happens when merge occurs isn’t decided, there is also the classic editor plugin as a back up to everything.

I wanted to dig a little into your uses of WordPress to try and see what you mean about ‘unnatural feeling’. Is there an application that you use right now or a set of plugins that makes things feel right in the existing editor? I’d love to if I may get some insights into your workflow there.
