Note: I noticed that there is an incompatibility between smush and imagify so I removed the smush plugin completely

    Hi @hungrylankan

Sorry to hear about the issue!

Just to be sure, are you using <picture> tag method to display WebP? It must be working and if not, make sure to clear all caches.

In case you are using rewrite method, the problem is within Cloudflare as it cached the version without WebP so that’s the reason you (and I) don’t see it.

Rewrite rules method will not work with Cloudflare and/or CDN so make sure to use picture method.

Smush and Imagify are the same kind of plugins so it’s never recommended using both at the same time.

Let me know if this helps.

    Best Regards

Not yet, i ticked the <picture> tag method but nothing changed, how do i check if that is working?

the issue is it was working initially and i could see that the it was showing the .webp version when i tried to save an image.

    Hey,

Once you activate picture tag method, can you clear all caches including PageSpeed and Cloudflare and let me know once it’s done?

Also, you can follow this guide to check for WebP images (make sure to check inner pages/posts as well).

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thank you for your response. It looks like webp images are being loaded correctly now for everything other than the feature image, and that image does not have the <picture> tag when you inspect the code. I think the feature image is set to be lazy-loaded from the theme, would that somehow affect the <picture> tag being used?

    Hi Pulasthi,

    Happy to hear it worked!

THis could be lazyload problem for Featured image – although I can not be 100% sure, so it would be best to test it out by deactivating the option from your theme and clearing the cache.

I am not sure, because the initiator script for this image is “Other” so not precisely defined – https://www.dropbox.com/s/ldgs7fcukskvlh3/screen%20shot%202020-09-11%20at%202.30.09%20pm.png?dl=0

Please let me know if deactivating LazyLoad fixes the issue.

    Thanks!
