Stopped Working; Not Parsing Shortcode
-
The plugin was working great. Out of nowhere, perhaps prompted by an automatic core update to 4.9.7, the plugin stopped working in that the [tickets] shortcode doesn’t get parsed anymore. Just the shortcode on the page and that’s it.
Yes, the pages have the correct shortcodes. Yes, those pages are properly designated in the Settings. Yes, I am running PHP 5.6+ (7.0).
I tried to diagnose the problem by disabling every single other plugin and changing back to the 2017 theme. No dice. Then I tried disabling Awesome Support itself and was going to re-enable it. You think it could be easy to do so, well NO. They have to prompt you with an annoying “Why are you disabling this?” popup. Well, how rude, but I decided to fill it out anyway. Then guess what? It just sat there spinning. It wouldn’t even submit the feedback I took the time to type in.
By now I’m pretty upset. I refresh the plugins page (the only way to deal with the stupid submission process spinning forever and not submitting) and finally just disable it without providing feedback.
I re-enabled it and it still didn’t work. So I (tried) deactivating it again (and, stupid me, filled out the feedback form AGAIN, thinking that it may have just been something with my internet or something; nope–it just sat there spinning again) but it wouldn’t work again so I just refreshed the page. Then, I just deleted it.
“Are you sure you want to delete this plugin and its data?”
Yep. It stopped working for no reason. I confirm.
Then, I went to reinstall it again, and afterwards, the shortcode still didn’t work.
Yet, all of my tickets were still in the database!— update: I saw that you have to toggle whether you want the data deleted. This is actually a good feature.I’m now going to try to do this and then un/re install it to see if it works again.— update #2 — even after completely uninstalling (with the data really deleted this time) and reinstalling, this freaking plugin won’t work. The ONLY thing that I can think of is that I am running PHP 7.0. I know it requires “5.6+” but it seems logical that 7.0 would work.So we have a non-functioning plugin
AND it doesn’t delete your data from the database.Otherwise, it was great when it worked. My client needs a functioning ticketing system and now my deadline is screwed. Money here is no issue and we were planning on paying for the advanced features AS offers, but I am really hesitant to do so now 🙁
I really hope this can get resolved. I may try a fresh WordPress deployment just to see if this will work on that, but that’s a huge chunk of time.
