    Hello!

I logged in to WP Dashboard today to find that the SureCart store that has been live for more than a month ago to have disappeared.

The SureCart dashboard and setting are completely empty and the status showed as “Complete your store setup to go live.”. But when I logged in on your platform, the details are still there.

I haven’t logged in or checked the site since a week ago, and the only thing that took place during that time were an automated backup by UpdraftPlus and two automated updates of WPMU Dev Dashboard. A week ago everything was still working.

I have tried removing the API token on the SureCart settings page in WP and adding the API token back but that didn’t change anything.

What should I do to get things working like it was a week ago? Do I reinstall the plugin on WP? Do I set up a new API token? Do I clear account cache? Or do I restore from my backup when things were still working?

It would be great if I could get inputs on which direction I could go to get everything back as before.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

The problem seems to have resolved itself and the store is back again along with all the products, uploads, coupons, etc, and there doesn’t seem to be anymore problems after the updates yesterday and today so I am marking this as resolved.

Although a webhook endpoint with URI /surecart/webhooks that I did not set up appeared some 21 hours ago. Do let me know if I should take any action with regards to that particular webhook endpoint.

    Thanks!

Thanks for following up. Can you check to make sure you didn’t regenerate WordPress salts? We use one of these salts to encrypt the API token in your database. Regenerating WordPress salts can have the unintended consequence of needing to reconnect your store since the encryption salt changed. You can instead, set this as a constant if you plan on rotating WordPress salts, which not not common practice.

For the webhook, yes, you will want to keep that. It lets SureCart communicate with your WordPress installation when subscriptions update, etc.

I have just experienced the same issue about the store disappearing and have submitted an urgent support ticket with surecart. The only thing I did immediately beforehand is clear out test data. I was expecting that this would just clear out all test purchases and transaction while in test mode. My store details and transactions still exist on surecart.com, but I have lost all integration back to my website. How do I restore things?

    Hi There,

Thanks for reporting this issue, and we’re very sorry for the disturbance. It looks like a change to our security layer resulted in your requests to our servers being blocked for a short while. This issue has been resolved and everything should be working as expected for you. But please let me know if you are still having issues.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for taking the time to respond and apologies for my late reply.

As to your question regarding salts, to the best of my knowledge (since I have just learnt about WP salts and needed to look them up), I don’t think that I did anything that would directly change them.

And for the webhook in question, I shall keep it as per your advice.

Thanks again! I really appreciate the follow up! 🙂
