I was trying to streamline to process of disabling the cart and applying a notice for a client’s website, I thought the Store Vacation would be a good solution, however, after enabling the module and having ‘Turn off purchases during vacation’ also enabled, a customer was able to complete a purchase. I can’t quite understand how… I am wondering if the customer had added the item to their cart before Store Vacation was activated and they could have checked out somehow afterwards?

Luckily the customer was happy to wait for the store to reopen (phew), if they were not I would have been out of luck and in trouble with my client as I could neither refund the customer nor dispatch the item.

I am not sure if I should trust this plugin for the next Store Vacation that I have to apply.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of issue?

    Hi @netmagik ,

Thank you very much for explaining the situation in detail.

Your assumption is very reasonable. It’s possible that the customer had added the product to their cart before the Store Vacation mode was activated, and then completed the checkout afterward. We also suspect the same scenario.

To confirm, could you please test once more using a different browser or an incognito window and try a fresh add-to-cart and checkout? This will help us verify the behavior more clearly.

In the meantime, we will also review this case on our side. If the issue occurs even after a fresh test, please let us know and we will investigate it further and try to fix it as soon as possible. We’ll also check whether we can improve the system so that checkout cannot be completed even if items were added to the cart before Store Vacation was enabled.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you notice anything else.

    Best regards,
    Kamal
