• Hello,

we have hundreds of links coming in from other sites that use this format http://domain.com/story.php?id=411

Our current permalink structure is /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%post_id%/%postname%/

Is there a way to get wordpress to honor/rewrite/resolve the story.php?id= ?

Can you please include more information on this?

What does ‘coming in’ refer to? Within the comments?

No I mean these stories are linked from other sites, such as they are quoting one of our stories and linking to it or directories or the like

I am sorry, but I must ask for clarity again.

I ‘think’ what you are seeing is links on other sites that ‘appear’ to point to your website, but do not, they actually link to another site???

Have you scanned your website here? :

Ok, first of all I scanned the site and there are not issues,

second, I went to the source site and found they are genuine links to our posts, the only issue is that they are using this story.php?id=xxxx which I assumed may have been a previous permalink structure

Do a search for a “301 redirect” plugin. There’s a lot of them that do this so I’m sure yo’ll find one that suits you.

That will let you redirect any incorrect URL that is being linked to to it’s correct URL.

I’ve tried a few and it doesn’t see to be able to convert story.php?id= to a wordpress fix
