Strange diagnostics?
-
I’ve just installed this plugin and it’s telling me to deactivate and remove Litespeed Cache and Perfmatters.
My website will suely run a lot slower with a caching system and an asset limiter removed?
*Edit*
My website did indeed run slower – down from two an a half seconds to 8.5 seconds with Fast Pixel activated.
Plugin binned, and the other two plugins re-activated I’m afraid.

Hello @deeveearr ,
Thank you for your message and for using FastPixel! π
This is normal behavior with other caching plugins, as running three caching plugins simultaneously can lead to issues due to overlapping features and caching layers.
For this reason, we generally recommend disabling other caching plugins when using FastPixel. The performance impact or speed scores should not be a problem as our plugin generally provides even better scores!
Could you please provide us a bit more information about your issue so we can configure everything properly for you? Our plugin shouldn’t be making your website slower, on the contrary, it should improve speed and performance scores, especially if the Fast preset is selected so I’m afraid this is an isolated case.
Regarding the recommendation to disable other caching plugins: this is a general best practice you’ll find with most performance tools, including WP Rocket and similar plugins, they will all ask you to disable other caching plugins.
The ‘fast’ preset was indeed selected.
A quick point here before I even consider re-activting it:
I’m already paying for a ‘one-time’ package on ShortPixel, which has still got a way to run.
Apparently FastPixel stops working after 5000 page views unless you get another paid package.
If FastPixel ‘bombs’ my website from 2.5 seconds to 8.5+ seconds even though I’m using Litespeed servers, should I be considering re-activating it even though my pagespeed scores are already in the nineties?
Hello @deeveearr ,
For some reason, the WordPress forums won’t let me continue my previous message, so I’m adding more information in a new reply here.
Running multiple caching plugins can lead to unexpected results, and it is generally good practice to only have a single plugin running. Our plugin (like other caching plugins) will signal this and ask one to deactivate other caching plugins to avoid that.
Please note that the FastPixel plugin only suggests deactivating other plugins that could conflict and doesn’t ask one to remove them.
As for the score being actually lower β I believe there is a mistake somewhere, as our plugin should only accelerate a website. Are you sure you gave it a minute for the page you were testing to actually be cached by FastPixel Cloud and start being served by the FastPixel plugin? If that’s the case, then could you please provide us with a bit more information about your website URL so we can try to test and replicate?
Thank you
The ShortPixel credits cannot be used with FastPixel as it’s a totally different service, so you would need a separate free or paid FastPixel account.
Regarding the pageview limit: the Free plan includes a monthly limit, but it automatically renews each month. This means your limit resets monthly, allowing you to continue optimizing your pages.
Even if you exceed your pageview limit, your website will continue to function normally, no issues or errors will occur.
Hi @adrianrus
I know that deactivating other caching plugins is essential, but the other problem that I’m having is that some of my site layout goes ‘out of whack’.
So if I deactivate Fast Pixel, will my layout return to normal?
Also, if it deactivates after 5000 page views, do I have to re-activate the plugins that I deactivated?
I’ll possibly give it another go following your reply.
Could you please provide us more information about how exactly is it going “out of whack” or what do you mean by that? Could you maybe reach out to us here so we can check some screenshots from your end to better understand the issue and try to fix it for you?
As for deactivating FastPixel, that’s correct, any visual issue should be back to normal once you disable it.
As for reaching the pageviews limit, that’s correct, if you decide to deactivate our plugin after reaching the pageviews limit, you could then re-active the other plugins you were using.
Thanks @adrianrus but de-activating and re-activating plugins seems to be more trouble than it’s worth, especially as I’ve just checked pagespeed insights again and the scores are all still in the 90’s.
I might return later when a few videos are placed on youtube (but NOT the one who darent show you his mobile speed) π
As it stands though, it’s not for me just yet.
