@cftrm Do not use short links in these forums, that has been abused in the past and is expanded when found. I have expanded yours into the link field.
That field cannot be seen by search engines.
Hi @cftrm thanks for your topic. Sorry to hear you’re having issues with your Web Stories I would be happy to help.
The first happens mainly on mobile. Basically, at the top of every story frame – a list of hyperlinks to other stories is displayed. As a result, this pushes the story down the frame leaving content missing
When checking with a mobile device I am unable to recreate what you are describing. If possible could you please share some screenshots of what you are seeing. It would also be great to know what device you are using and with what browser you are seeing this?
The second issue is on the web-stories page itself. As you scroll down text from stories overlap. This happens on both mobile and desktop.
I can see the issue you are referring to here. When using the healthcheck and troubleshooting steps did you switch to a default WordPress theme? If not could you please try this and check back to your Stories page to see if this makes any difference?
It would be helpful if you could provide your Site Health Information privately via this form also so that I can check if there is anything in your setup that stands out that could point towards any issues.
Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

Adam
Thank you so much for coming back to me. Attached are some screenshots and I have also sent on the site health info. Hopefully it is just something small that I’ve done here.
I have replied to the email with attachments – as no link here (hopefully that will send them through)
@cftrm you cannot attach any attachments through the forum I’m afraid. You can share a Google Drive link for these or even use a service such as Imgur to upload and share your screenshot links here.

Thanks for clarifying Adam

@cftrm No problem and thank you for the screenshot. This looks like a similar issue to the second point you have made. Have your stories always displayed like this or were they originally working as normal?
Could you please also clarify if you have tried switching to a default WordPress theme? If not then could you please try this and let me know how it goes.

Hi again
I believe I have the culprit.
Especially in case, the question comes up on the forum in the future.
Basically, it caused three main problems.
1. new legend appeared on the top of a web story that pushed the actual story content down the frame.
2. web-stories index page showed muddled text between story pages.
3. drop-down on mobile accordion navigation menu on a second site to not load properly – open and disappear so not clickable.
So I retraced what I had done to see where the problem was.
In an effort to help speed and load times I’ve been using WPRocket.
In their file optimization, they have a feature to Optimize CSS Delivery that has two options
1. Remove Unused CSS (Beta)
2. Load CSS Asynchronously
Option 1 creates massive savings on PSI but also causes the three errors above.
Load CSS Asynchronously removes the errors.
Simple As!!
I hope??
Anyway, hopefully, a solution in case the question comes up again.
@cftrm Glad to hear you have found the cause of the issues you’ve been facing and thanks for sharing the information that is very helpful. We will make a note of this for future users that may run into this problem and will mark your topic as resolved.
Please do reach out in future if you have any more questions or issues and we will be happy to help.
