I noticed a strange behaviour of the timestamp shown as order creation time which I do not understand:
I just did a test order and then checked it in WC Orders. It shows timestamp 19:16. When I checked it, it was local time 20:41, the order was maximum 5 minutes ago. So it doesn’t look like a matter of time zones (because then only the hour should be wrong, not the minutes, right?).

FWIW, I checked WP timezone configuration (local time shown there matches mine, so seems ok) and server time (also matches mine).

Do you have any ideas on that issue?

    Hi @nullkohol,

Thanks for bringing up your observation! One possibility could be related to how WooCommerce stores and retrieves order timestamps, particularly if there’s caching or asynchronous processing happening around the order creation. A few questions:

    • Are you viewing the orders in your WordPress admin dashboard (WP Admin → WooCommerce → Orders) or in the Woo Mobile app?
    • Have you noticed this happening with other orders, or was this the first time you’ve seen this discrepancy?
    • When you say you checked the WP timezone configuration and it matches your local time, can you confirm you’re looking at Settings → General → Timezone in your WordPress admin, and what specific timezone is selected there?

    We’d recommend checking:

    • Whether object caching is active and might be affecting the timestamps
    • Any plugins or custom functions that might interfere with order creation or logging: https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts. Once other plugins are deactivated, make a test purchase and see.
    • If the server’s PHP configuration or timezone settings differ slightly from WordPress’ timezone display.

It would also be great if you could share your site’s System Status report. This will give us a clearer picture of your site’s setup and could help us identify the issue. You can find it via WooCommerce → Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

We’re here to help dig deeper into this. If you happen to catch another example, a bit more detail (like the exact time you placed the order and when it appears in the dashboard) could help us pinpoint the issue better. Feel free to use https://snipboard.io/ for screenshots.

    Looking forward to your response.

Hi Frank, thanks for all this information and the suggested next steps. I wasn’t able to look into this so far, but I’ll do so within the next days. I’ll keep you updated 🙂

    Hi @nullkohol,

Thanks for the update, and no worries at all! Take your time looking into it.

It’s great that you’re planning to dig deeper soon. Since the timestamp discrepancy isn’t matching your local time and doesn’t seem to be a simple timezone offset, checking for caching layers or asynchronous order processing will be especially helpful. Also, confirming the exact timezone set under Settings → General and comparing it with your server’s PHP configuration could reveal subtle mismatches.

When you’re ready, feel free to share your System Status report and any screenshots or logs you capture.

Looking forward to hearing what you find.

I tried to replicate the strange behaviour today and it’s not happening (anymore).

Maybe an update fixed it. Maybe something else was changed … I don’t know and I’ll keep an eye on it to catch it in case it happens again.

Thanks for your ideas of where to look closer. I’ll keep them in mind.

    Hi @nullkohol,

Thanks for the update, and that’s great to hear!

It’s always a bit mysterious when an issue resolves itself, but it’s possible that the version 10.1.0, cache refresh, or even a server-side tweak quietly smoothed things out behind the scenes. Either way, I’m glad the timestamp discrepancy isn’t showing up anymore.

Definitely keep an eye on it, and if it resurfaces, feel free to share any new details or patterns you notice. Your earlier observations were super helpful, and having that context will make it easier to pinpoint the cause if it pops up again.

If you have a few minutes, we’d love if you could leave us a review: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/
