Strange string in URL when navigating pages

I have found that when clicking between the pages on my blog occasionally a strange string of text and numbers will show up in the URL and the page will load very slowly, if not at all. This is when navigating the pages which list the posts and doesn’t actually happen on the posts themselves.
For example, clicking on page 3 shows this url:
http://www.site.com/page/3/?s=%3Cscript%3Ealert%28String.fromCharCode%2888%2C83%2C83%29%29%3C%2Fscript%3E%20The strange thing is sometimes its one page, sometimes all pages, something not at all.
Would really appreciate advice.
