I have been a longtime user of Responsive Menu for over 50+ websites and would like to keep using it, but I have had the following issues since updating to v 3.0 and later. All of the following issues are immediately resolved upon deactivating Responsive Menu. We are using PHP 5.5+.

– WP Admin bar will disappear on random pages and just show white bar in its place.
– Randomly, pages will not load, but just appear as a white screen.
– Randomly, Parts of pages will not load. Sometimes 1/2 of the page, sometimes 3/4 of the page. No order to what is not loaded.
– Our “physician finder” will randomly quit working and display, “connection reset” screen.

However before I can look at the site can you try disabling WordFence too to see if that causes the issues to go away as none of the things you have mentioned should be a side effect of my plugin.

For example we don’t touch the styling of the admin bar, we don’t stop pages from loading and we would never show a connection reset screen.

Of course I will take a look once I can access your site to see if I can find any obvious cause.

Also are there any errors in your PHP error logs or any WordFence logs as these will definetely help

Thank you for taking the time to look into this. Problems still persist with Wordfence deactivated.

What Country are you in so I can un-block you?

Update: I’ve done more testing and problems still only persist when Responsive Menu is activated. Cannot replicate an issue with Responsive Menu deactivated.

Update: Another site site (running same setup) using Responsive Menu 3.0.4 working properly. Upgraded to 3.0.6 and problems start.

Hey there,

I can get on the site fine now.

Can you please give me steps to recreate the issue as I have clicked on every page of the site and have not seen any of the issues mentioned above as yet.

If you are getting white screens it sounds like a PHP or server issue somewhere – what is in your PHP logs for around the times that you see issues?

Update: New issues….

When Responsive Menu is activated, the media library will not load in Chrome. The media library WILL load in Firefox, but cannot insert images into post/page.

Once I deactivate Responsive Menu, all issues are resolved.

Hey there,

Seems like my plugin and your setup don’t like eachother much! 🙁

I don’t really know what to suggest, maybe look through the web console and see if there are any javascript issues?

I am unable to replicate this on any of my sites so it is something specific to your theme which is why its difficult for me to say without seeing it first hand.

@iasishealthcare, I just tried accessing your site myself. As you suggested, there seem to be no problems in Firefox, but quite a few in Chrome.

But when I checked the Chrome console, Responsive Menu didn’t seem to be the issue. It seems instead to be a Chrome-specific issue, related to embed-player.js. You can see the problems discussed here.

I found another theme whose author suggests installing an extension (http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/embed-video-cast_sender-js-error/), but I doubt that’s feasible for you. I think you should ask your theme author for advice.

Thanks for the reply.

The primary issue we’re having now is around the Media Library not loading (in Chrome) and not inserting images (in Firefox). Again, All issues are resolved once Responsive Menu is deactivated.

Hey there,

I honestly cant think of any reason my end except a conflict with your theme or plugins somewhere. The things KTS mentioned above suggests there are issues with your theme and maybe its just that my plugin is highliting them rather than causing them.

Like I said I have no problems on any of my sites with this om Chrome and have never heard of this issue from anyone else on here so although turning my plugin off may fix it, it doesnt necessarily mean its the cause.

For example if you switch to the base WordPress theme do you still have the issues? This will be a good indicator.

Well, if you’re now just experiencing problems on the admin pages, I suggest you install the browser extension for Chrome suggested in the second link in my previous comment, and see whether that resolves the problems for you in Chrome. If so, you can then look for an equivalent extension for Firefox.
