I have updated translations
Translations in plural is fine

Hy @johan_walter,
did you update the translations from the WordPress admin? I saw on https://translate.ww.wp.xz.cn/projects/wp-plugins/name-directory/ that French is 100% complete, and that means the language packs are distributed.

I am not sure what I can do to help you with this. Did you edit the file that the translationmechanism downloaded before this update?

All strings are properly translated

No it does not work
po file has the string translated but on the front string in singular is not translated
It has a mix of french and english ; string is in english and variable is in french (nom)

I just pushed a very small update. I hope this will resolve it. I did a fallback on another, already translated, string.
I might take a few minutes before the update is available in your WP-admin panel.
