Strings don’t get Translated

    Dear Melapress Support Team,

    I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to report an issue with the translation of certain strings in your WP 2FA plugin. I’ve encountered some strings that seem to be missing translation, even after translating them to Greek utilizing the provided .pot:

    1. “wp_2fa_white_label[default-text-code-page]”

    2. “wp_2fa_white_label[default-backup-code-page]”

    These untranslated strings are appearing in the login page and the settings menu in the White Label Tab.

    Despite all other plugin strings being translated successfully, these particular strings remain untranslated. I placed the wp-2fa-el.po and wp-2fa-el.mo files in the wp-content/languages/plugins directory and in the plugins/wp-2fa/languages.

    Your prompt assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    I did a quick check for these labels, but I was unable to find them at first glance. Can you please let me know where/how you were able to see these two?

    Also, what method/plugin are you using to create these translations? Or is it another process/method that you are using?

    Also, a screenshot from our plugin where you think they apply can help as well! I shall go for more in-depth checks afterwards, after you can confirm this for me first.

    Thank you for your swift response and willingness to assist!

    To provide further clarity, the code occurrences of the untranslated strings are as follows:

    1. “default-text-code-page”:
      Located in includes/classes/class-wp2fa.php at lines 100, 108, and 109.
    2. “default-backup-code-page”:
      Located in includes/classes/class-wp2fa.php at line 111.

    As for the plugin interface, these strings are visible in the WordPress Settings menu, within the White Labeling Tab, in the sections for the 2FA code page text and the Backup code page text.

    I’ve been handling the translations manually using Poedit, generating the wp-2fa-el.po and wp-2fa-el.mo files. These translation files have been placed in both the wp-content/languages/plugins directory and the plugins/wp-2fa/languages directory.

    Attached is a screenshot illustrating where these untranslated strings appear within the plugin interface for your reference.

    Thank you for your patience on this one!

    I have done some investigations, and I was able to find these strings inside the pot file of the plugin -> https://plugins.trac.ww.wp.xz.cn/browser/wp-2fa/trunk/languages/wp-2fa.pot

    Given that the pot file integrity was checked, it’s a bit unexpected that you are unable to locate and translate those ones, too.

    May I ask if you have tried another plugin (e.g., Loco translate) and were unable to do this using that one as well? Since this is the first time somebody has reported this to us, maybe a few other checks on your side, can surely shed some light on this.

    Thank you for your continued assistance.

    I appreciate your efforts in locating the strings within the .pot file and confirming their presence. As mentioned earlier, I indeed used the .pot file to create the .po and .mo files for translation manually using Poedit. However, despite these translations being present in the .po/.mo files, they do not seem to reflect in the plugin interface. Check here:

    Furthermore, I did check the plugin Loco Translate, which indicates that the WP 2FA Plugin is already 100% translated into Greek. Despite this, the specific strings in question remain untranslated within the plugin interface.

    Given that these translations exist within the files and have been confirmed by both Poedit and Loco Translate, it appears there might be an issue with how the plugin is handling these translations or something else that I am missing. I would greatly appreciate any further assistance or insights you may have to resolve this matter.
