Stripe fields set to type = hidden

Hello,

I am having issues with the Stripe credit card fields not displaying. When I inspect it, I’m seeing that they are all set to type hidden.

I’ve gone through the troubleshooting steps of disabling all plugins and only Woocommerce and the Stripe gateway are enabled. I’ve also switched to a different theme. I’m still having the same issue. The link I provided is my staging site where I’m testing this.

To reproduce this, you’ll need to be a registered user. Please use the test account below:

Go to Course list in the top menu, then select the BLS Provider Skills Session 4-24-24 course. Add to cart and follow the prompts, just fill in dummy data to get to the cart. Once you’re on the checkout page, you’ll see the payment section with the fields missing. Here’s a screenshot.

Thanks for sharing a detail explanation on the issue you are facing with your store. I was able to replicate the issue from my end.

I understand you already tried different troubleshooting steps but the issue persists. Just to clarify, could you please confirm the theme you switched to when troubleshooting the issue further?

In the meantime, could you please enable debug mode from your Stripe advanced settings (if not already enabled) like exemplified here and then share the logs generated under WooCommerce > Status > Logs? You can copy and paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

Thanks for looking into this. Yes, the theme I switched to was the Twenty Nineteen. I’m currently using Hello theme.

The debug was already enabled here.

Hey, @julandesign!

Thanks for sharing the information.

First, on your first message, please remove the credentials for the site account and sharing those in the forums is against the rules.

This issue is most often caused by either 1) API keys being mis-copied or entered in the wrong fields, or 2) a conflict with code in the active theme or another active plugin on the site.

Since you already ran the conflict test and the issue persisted, I’d recommend re-copying both the public and secret keys from your Stripe dashboard into the Stripe gateway settings on your site. Make sure you don’t miss any characters when copying/pasting, and ensure they are copied into the correct fields — Public/Secret — and also the correct mode as Live keys and Sandbox keys will not work in the opposite mode.

You should see an edit link at the bottom of your initial post. I also recommend you change your site password as soon as possible to a new secure password.

Additionally, you mentioned you tried this with Twenty Nineteen, can you please try with the Storefront theme, too?

To edit a previous message, there is an Edit button on the bottom right corner of your message. You must be logged in to edit a message.

The StoreFront is a default theme for WooCommerce.
You can add it to your site by going to the Themes page and then searching for Storefront.

Here is a screenshot for your reference:

Let me know if your issue persists after activating the Storefront theme.

I’m not exactly sure why, but I don’t see an edit button for my post. Here’s a screenshot of the post. As you can see I’m logged in, but I don’t see an edit option.

I’ve switched it out for the Storefront theme and it’s still having issues. Here’s a screenshot with the new experience enabled. And here’s the screenshot with the new experience disabled, both in the Storefront theme.

I asked a moderator to remove the account credentials for you 🙂

I was checking the screenshots you shared and on this one it shows webhooks as disabled. This might be what is causing the issue.

Please make sure you set up the webhooks and see if the issue persists. You can find more about this in this guide.
