stripping backslashes

We are using custom pixels from a 3rd party ad tracking system on individual blog posts. The pixels contain backslashes in the code which PYS is stripping out when we save the post. Is there a way to keep PYS from stripping out characters when it saves what we put in to the header or footer fields on a page?
