Hi, the update has not fixed this, and the issue still remains.
This works in another site, but this one is still returning http when going through the three steps.
Because of this, it returns to the dashbaord asking me to Sign in (which I already have).
Other people are having the same issue, what’s the reason??
@leec87 thanks for the details. Before the update the Site Kit service wouldn’t recognize the change in the URL if it was updated (like you did before). The fix I linked to above resolves the issue, however it appears you may need to do a few more steps to prompt the update.
1) From the WordPress dashboard under Settings > General, could you temporarily change the WordPress Address and Site Address to http:// and then back to https://. (you may have to log back into your WP admin)
2) Reset Site Kit
3) Attempt the setup process again
Let me know if you have any questions and if you are able to connect.
@leec87 @reneesoffice The update did not fix it for me either, but this is what worked for me.
First, for good measure, make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of Site Kit.
1.Sign into Google Search Console and remove your site.
2. Add a new property as a URL prefix and enter your site with the https protocol
3. Login to WordPress Admin and reset Site Kit
4. Re-authenticate then all should be working if the WordPress Address and Site Address are set to the https protocol
I’ve been dealing with this for a little while, so I hope this helps.
@gshawii thanks for sharing what worked for you. @leec87 it looks like you were able to get Site Kit connected per the source code of your site?
@leec87 Can you confirm that you were able to successfully get connected?
@leec87 since we have not heard from you, I am marking your support topic as resolved. Feel free to open a new topic if you need further help.
