@jowo there’s shouldn’t be any problem at all with long content. Can you please check the console (right-click and “Inspect” via Google Chrome) while you’re performing these actions?
You might have JavaScript errors from other plugins that could interfere with Asset CleanUp. You never know. I doubt it’s a bug from the plugin because it’s been working perfectly so far and there were no reports like this one in months. There’s a small chance that due to the WordPress 5.5 upgrade, some plugins are reporting JS errors because they need jQuery Migrate.

Seems to have fixed itself randomly. Not sure why it was not saving before.
