• I’m not sure how to proceed. I did an install from my hosting company…seemed to work alright. I activated the ‘dazzling’ theme and went into the general settings. I added a tagline, changed the url to remove ‘/dir'(I wonder if this is what caused the problem), when I tried to save, it went to page with following message:

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

goodoldways.ca is the site I am trying to build. womenscoachhouse.com is another of my domains with the same web host.

It doesn’t matter what I try to do now…I keep getting the same page/error message.

I get the feeling I might have to uninstall and start again. Any help is much appreciated.

  • Yep, changing the URL setting likely did that – you can change those back – see:

Hey debbieperret, if you are completely locked out and that’s the only error you get… re-installing wp could work, but try to delete the theme using your FTP program and access, or if you are proficient in phpMyAdmin, you can no doubt find in at your host page from where you installed WP, you can edit the tables where that ‘/dir’ was added and just remove it… LMK
