@heidi,
Are your emails actually sending? If they are then you can ignore the warning message. That message is there to highlight to users if they are sending from an off-domain email and warns that messages may not send if the email is different. Since you are using a subdominant it should work so the warning can be ignored.
Unfortunately, the emails aren’t sending. We’ve had several test runs and so far it has never worked. Since we have that error message, I assumed it’s because of that.
@heidi,
Try installing an email log plugin. Make sure you set the number of recipients per email to 1 in the Subscribe2->Settings page under the Email Settings tab. Then check the log to see if emails are generated. Also test sending from the Subscribe2->Send Email page if you can (don’t send to existing subscribers if you can help it when testing though).
Thank you for your help!
I did install the email log plugin, and sent a test email as you described to two public subscribers (internal people). Unfortunately, neither one of them received the email notification. I then checked the log to see if the email were generated, and they showed up as sent. I did set the number of recipients per email to 1.
Any other advice?
Thank you!
@heidi,
If the emails are showing in the log then they are being generated for sending and the failure is happening later – either they are ending up in spam or they may be rejected for sending by your own server.
Try using a plugin that pushes the emails via an authenticated SMTP server (I use Configure SMTP) and also speak with your hosting provider about their policies and limits on the web server regarding sending emails.
Hi, I have a main domain http://www.secretfamiliesmc.org and a subdomain http://www.staging.secretfamilies.org
I was trying to set up Contact Form 7 on staging, but wasn’t receiving any of the e-mails. In the process of debugging the issue, I tried logging into the wp-admin of each domain (they are both fully hosted) and requesting a new password to see if anything was up with e-mail in general.
I received the password request e-mail from the main site, but not the domain site.
I have no idea how to fix the sub-domain so the e-mail works on it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
@secretfamiliesmc,
This is the forum for Subscribe2, if you are having issues with Contact Form 7 you are in the wrong place.
Try here:

@mattyrob At first I was having issues with Contact Form 7 e-mail, but a post suggested trying to see if you can even receive e-mail from your domain and suggested logging into the admin account, saying you forgot your password and seeing if you receive ANY email from the attempt. So, this isn’t a Contact Form 7 issue anymore, it’s an issue of not being able to receive email from my subdomain. Is there a different forum to go to for just that?
@secretfamiliesmc,
Sounds like you have a wider issue with emails rather than anything specific to a plugin then. I’d suggest speaking to your hosting provider.
