Subdomain to Subfolder Move Problems

Hi,

I’ve been trying to move my non secure blog which is currently a subdomain to a secure subfolder.

Example:
Move http://blog.example.com to https://www.example.com/blog

I was able to get the subdomain to redirect to the subfolder on my staging site like this: staging.example.com/blog/

However, I was unable to get the WP admin page to redirect, when I type in: staging.example.com/wp-admin/
It does not go to the admin page, it redirects to the main site’s home page and the address bar turns into a bunch of numbers. I can’t move my blog because I would be unable to add posts to it if I can’t access the subfolder admin page.

Does anyone have an idea why this may be happening? Could it be a conflict with secure and none secure? The site is run on AWS.
