What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?
I have this issue too on several sites (6). It is highly intermittent, probably affects less than 3% of forms submitted, it is usually working ok, but the symptom I am given by users is a spinning symbol. But the page does not change to indicate the message has been sent. It is stuck there. I have not been able to replicate it. These forms are all complex and use a formatting plugin.
What is happening in the form while the post submit symbol is spinning? What is it waiting for? In all of my cases there are conditions on fields, some are mandatory, some are certain variable types. I am told post submit there are no warning messages. So it looks like the form has been parsed for errors.
Would appreciate some guidance on how to debug this.
I also use CF7DB, under these fault circumstances the form is never recorded. Only successfully sent forms are recorded.

Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7 and Akismet Anti-spam, and clearing all cache data.
Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.
