Submit reloads page without adding
-
Hello. I have embedded a simple signup form using your plugin onto a page of my website, and when I click submit the page reloads (and where the form used to be is an empty space) and the person is not added to the selected mailing list. Any idea what this may be?

If it’s a public page, would you be willing to provide a link to it? We’d like to check on a couple things and see what we can determine firsthand.
Thanks.
~MichaelAny followup to this one? Would love to see if we can get the issue worked out.
I ended up copying the HTML code from the Constant Contact form builder (on your website) and pasting that, and it worked fine. Sorry I can’t be of more help troubleshooting the plugin.
I’m having the same issue. Page reloads after submission but contact doesn’t get added to the database:
@papayainternet just submitted my own email, michael @ webdevstudios . com for testing sake. We’re trying to determine potential bottlenecks in regards to the signup form and the Constant Contact website. Biggest hunch is hosting environments causing potential issues.
Let me know if you end up seeing my signup above in your list.
Thanks for testing. Our developer recreated the form with the hopes that it would fix the issue and you submitted your email after that was done.
Not seeing your email in the list.
We’ve had reports of varying delays, so sometimes it’s rather quick, sometimes it’s not. Keeping an eye on it at the moment here, we’re not forgetting things.
FYI, using the html code from your website results in a form that works immediate without delay. So, assuming the plugin and the website use the same Constant Contact backend to process the form entries, I would think the issue is more related to the form generated by the plugin.
@tw2113 To clarify my with my example from http://thegavoice.com
The pop-up, which uses the Icebox plugin, works fine and I’m seeing emails added to constant contact through it. The form near the footer uses the Constant Contact plugin does not.
Thanks!
@papayainternet it was the footer one that I used earlier. Wasn’t aware of any popup 😀
@wordpmtl Chances are they’re using different things overall, though still from ConstantContact as a whole. Personally only, I have to believe it has to do with the communication between the submitted form data and the ConstantContact API, more than the forms themselves. The question is where and why is it failing when it does fail, and given different hosting environments and conditions, not always easy to pinpoint.
Thank you all for sticking with us thus far, we are trying.
Hello. Any update on this issue?
Thanks!
Not quite yet, but I’ll re-ping where appropriate.
One thing I want to check in with, are you using the opt in option for the form in question? I was looking through the code earlier, (note, I’m not the original dev, but definitely a currently contributing one), and I was noticing it was set to add users to lists only if the opt-in checkbox was being provided and checked.
We weren’t using the opt-in checkbox, but we enabled it and tested. Doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Any update on this? The plugin still doesn’t work for this site: https://thegavoice.com
We get a confirmation message, but the email address doesn’t get added to the constant contact database.
