Hi @honoluluman
You’re welcome and thank you.
There is an option that is specifically related to the subscriptions. In WP admin > StCR > Options, there is an option (around the middle) called “BBC admin on Notifications”, set that to “Yes”.
But that will send a copy of every notification from the plugin to the administrator as well. It won’t send a notification for every comment.
So it’s not exactly what you are looking for.
But what you are looking for is actually what WordPress already has by default, in WP admin > Settings > Discussion, you’ll see an option called “Email me whenever”, check those checkboxes and WordPress will notify you on every comment.
@wpkube thank you for your fast reply 🙂
In my blog i have already checked those options (WP admin > Settings > Discussion) as it is recommended if i would like to have email notifications on any comment submit, but still for some reason i dont get any emails.
I am not using author roles for the blog posts but contibutors. They are all getting default wordpress emails when there is a new comment, but admin doesn’t. (I am already using SMTP plugin).
Your plugins emails are also landing normal to the inbox of the users.
Really can’t undertand why admin doesn’t getting any comment email.
(Moderation comments emails are also landing in admins inbox normal.)
So i was thinking this alternative using your plugins ability.
Thank you again for your time

Hi @honoluluman
Any chance those are landing in the spam folder?
Install WP Mail Logging plugin, it will log all outgoing emails. Then when a comment gets posted check to see if the notification for a new comment which WP sends to the admin is in there.
Also there’s one thing to keep in mind, the administration email is the email set in WP admin > Settings > General. It’s not the email of a user with the administrator role, there can be multiple administrator users.
hello @wpkube and thank you for your support 🙂
i have been doing a lot of tests for this issue 🙁 (didn’t tested with the plugin you mentioned above), but i think that i found a more simple way to solve my issue since i want to get notified on every new comment.
I set all the default wordpress comment notifications to go to the admin email since this is working correct , and i set the option for the authors to get notified via your plugin. Of course you say there not retroactive , but after some tests i saw that authors get a notification email even in their old posts.
So i think this is all i needed for the moment.

Hi @honoluluman
Great, happy to hear it’s sorted out.
hello @wpkube just dropping by to inform you about some issues not so important, but maybe you would like to look on that.
1.If i set subscriptions only for blog posts, i can’t have the option for other custom post types. That would be really good to have.
2. I am using mc4wp and for some reason your plugin is creating an extra subscription when someone signsup for newsletters. I guess the newsletter form is somehow behaving like a comments form?
If i have more observations i will let you know
Thank you for your time.

Hi @honoluluman
1) That’s coming this month.
2) I’ll test that out, the newsletter form from mc4wp shouldn’t be related to comments. Will let you know.
Thanks for the suggestions.
hello @wpkube just dropping by to inform you about another simular issue.
On my site i am using buddypress. In case i make a save (changing some fields data) in buddypress xprofile fields of a user, i get to see him subscribed in the newsletter list.
If i have more observations i will let you know
Thank you for your time.
