Subscribe on registration form

Hi there,
when I select Subscribe on registration form in Mailpoet Settings, users receive confirmation email even if they DON’T check the checkbox in the registration form.Checked or not checked, user receive confirmation email of the newsletter.
Is that a bug? In the previous version, it worked very well.
I tried on several website and doesn’t work on every website.
Could you help me?

You can try by yourself on https://www.areepicnic.it/wp-login.php?action=register.
You will receive newsletter confirmation even if you don’t check option.I tryed to deactivate all plugins but Mailpoet without success.

I have a similar problem where the first email (click this link to confirm subscription) is received, but even if the user does not click the link, they are subscribed. I’m using the mailpoet sending service, so the double opt-in is mandatory but I do not know how to control this automatic subscription.
@bernwoz do you have “signup confirmation is enforced if you send with the MailPoet Sending Service” message?
Yes, you’ll see a note stating this in the documentation and the MailPoet settings page on the Sign-Up Confirmation tab

I registered a new user on your site but there was no option to add myself to a mailing list. At the same time, I did receive a Post Notification email.
I checked this email’s headers and I see that you’re not using MailPoet Sending Service.
Can you please check the following:
1) You have the latest MailPoet plugins installed.
2) You’re using a third-party sending method in MailPoet > Settings > Send With..
3) You have Enable sign-up confirmation enabled in MailPoet > Settings > Sign-up Confirmation.
4) “Subscribe in registration form” is enabled in MailPoet > Settings > Basics.Cheers!

I had disabled “Subscribe in registration form” for testing purpose, now it is enabled again.I reply to your check list:
1) Yes of course, 3.60.4
2) I use “Sending Service di MailPoet” and all check are green.
3) Yes, this option is mandatory with Mailpoet Sending Service.
4) Yes, now it is enable.Tnx.

I guess that was a different Post Notification email, not from your site. Sorry for the confusion.
In my testing, I didn’t receive a sign-up confirmation email – only an email about account set up (to set my password).
Can you please remove my test subscriber logins @ mailpoet.com so I can test again?

I was able to replicate the same issue on my test site and reported it to our developers: even when users do not select the opt-in checkbox, they receive a signup confirmation email.
I don’t have any ETA, but hopefully, we will be able to include it in the next release.
