This plugin will not extended by a paging navigation since such a feature is not available for widgets at all. It is available in post contents only (WP developers know that condition as “inside the loop”).
I offer a more versatile post list plugin with a paging navigaation feature if the post list is embedded in the post content: Ultimate Post List Pro.
I don’t understand, i modified yours source code and it’s full ok.

I added an option in admin form for select if we want it or not a paging navigation.

Thank you for your files. I implemented them and tested the new feature. As expected it works in archive pages. But it does not work in single post pages. Hence I don’t see any sense to add this feature.
