    Hi,

I’ve been using powerpress with libsyn as my podcast media host. Basically, they are working well, I think.

But I noticed when checking the podcast addict app that my podcast appears twice. One with my libsyn feed and one with a feed created by powerpress from my WordPress website.

I think it was because I enabled subscribe to RSS in the powerpress subscribe widget whereas in iTunes and elsewhere I have used the libsyn RSS feed.

I’m trying to resolve this so the podcast is only listed once. And I wondered whether when using the powerpress subscribe widget and subscribe links I can enter my libsyn RSS feed address?

So far I haven’t been able to do that and for the moment I have deactivated the subscribe to RSS in the powerpress widget.

Wondered if anyone had any suggestions or advice about this?

    Thanks,

    Mark

PowerPress (nor Blubrry) submits any feeds for you to any platforms (including Podcast Addict) automatically. How Podcast Addict got your PowerPress RSS feed URL, I can’t say. If you want that extra listing removed from their directory, you should contact Podcast Addict support.

To make the RSS subscription link generated by PowerPress use your Libsyn RSS feed, try this:
1.) Log in to your WordPress site
2.) Click the PowerPress link in the lefthand sidebar
3.) At the bottom of the next page, you’ll see an Advanced menu, check the box next to Custom Podcast Channels in that menu and click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page
4.) Look at the lefthand sidebar again, underneath the PowerPress header, you should see it a link for Podcast Channels, click it
5.) In the right column of the next page, look for Podcast (default channel) and click the Edit link that appears underneath
6.) Copy/paste your Libsyn feed URL into the FeedBurner Feed URL field (don’t worry, in your case, this has nothing to do with FeedBurner) and click the Save Changes button

Now, when you have the Subscribe by RSS option enabled, it should link to your Libsyn feed.

Keep in mind that your PowerPress-generated podcast RSS feed is a perfectly good feed. If you ever decide to leave Libsyn, you can use that feed instead and host your media files wherever you want.
