    Hello,
    I have installed the latest version of Subscribe2 to my website’s blog at cariferraro.com, on the Subscribe page, which is reach by clicking the box in the top navigation bar. All is well, public subscribers coming in as I wished them to. Then today I enabled the Subscribe2 Widget and put it in the sidebar of my Journal page (which is not my front page). The form shows up the same way as on my Subscribe page. When I test out a new public subscription, I get a notice in my email to confirm the subscription; when I click on that it takes me back to the Subscribe Page on my site with no notice that the subscription has been confirmed (as does show when I test-subscribe FROM the Subscribe page). It is the initial page asking people to sign up for a new subscription, but they are supposed to be confirming their already-entered subscription. Is the Widget in conflict with the Subcribe Page I set up? I thought it would add to the functionality of the plugin, but I don’t want to confuse people. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,
    Cari

  • @cari,

    I suspect you just need to configure the Widget a little more. If you visit the Widget page in WordPress and open up the Subscribe2 widget you will see all of the settings. Where it says “Post form content to page:” you need to point the appropriate page.

    where is the subscribe2 widget, it’s not in my dashboard.

    nm found it 😀

    Thank you Mattyrob! I did have that checked already, to the Subscribe Page. But the form shows up in two places: in the Widget on my Journal Page (currently disabled) and on the Subscribe Page. It doesn’t take the subscriber to the Subscribe page to subscribe but lets them do it from the Widget. Is that confusing the plugin?

    Would the widget be the place to have a message that the subscription is confirmed by adding a message to the Post-content? I am not sure what the Pre-content and Post-content are for. When I am not using the Widget everything works seamlessly.

    @monstertaco,

    I see you found that you need to activate it first in the settings.

    @cari,

    The Widget and the form shouldn’t conflict, I have them working side by side on my sites. Either way the confirmation link needs to be directed back to a page where the widget or form are available so the confirmation can be processed. If the direct goes to a page where the Subscribe2 code is not available it won’t work.
