Hi, Is it possible to remove the “Replace media” link from the Media Library on image not owned by the subscriber?

If the user does try and replace an image they don’t own, It’s not allowed, but why have the link and invite temptation?

Great plugin, thought I’d offer my thoughts.

    Thanks

  • No, because there is no concept of ownership of files in WordPress. All files are common.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you’re saying. However, there are cases where subscribers don’t have access to all admin features in backend, so I thought the same concept could apply in the media library.

While there’s no FILE ownership, WordPress does maintain who uploaded each file, so if you wanted to, you could use that information to determine the file’s “owner”.
