subscriber:firstname uppercase?

Hi, some subscribers enter their names all in lower case. When I use the shortcodes [subscriber:firstname] or [subscriber:lastname] in the mail it looks ugly. Is there a way to convert the first character of firstname and lastname to uppercase, e.g. using php ucfirst() function? Where would I have to apply that function?
