Subscribers going to WordPress users

    I have recently figured out that anyone who subscribes to my site, their info gets dumped into wordpress users. I was told to contact you when I queried bluehost/wordpress. They checked the issue and said it was the mailpoet plugin. I have screenshots of our conversation if you need them.

    If you created your subscription form using MailPoet, could you please confirm whether it is set to subscribe users to the WordPress User lists?

    Thank you I see that I created the subscribe with WP forms. Kindly advise what I can do to fix this and have subscribers go directly to mailpoet subscribers.

    Hi there @leakp ,

    Subscribers registering through the regular WP Form are added to the WordPress Users list by default.

    To have subscribers added to a custom list, you’d need to create a MailPoet subscription form as per these instructions.

    I’d recommend doing that as this allows you to create more appealing subscription forms such as Pop-up Forms.

    Hello! I’ve created the mailpoet pop up subscription form. It’s much nicer than a wp form which I have uninstalled. However, subscribers are still getting dumped into users. Now, they are also added to mailpoet subscribers (at least improvement). Any further advice? Thanks.

    Hello there @leakp ,

    Thank you for getting back to us.

    This is expected behaviour if the subscribers registering using the MailPoet form you created also have WordPress accounts. The email address will be matched and they will automatically be added to the WordPress User Lists as well.

    Does this happen for all the subscribers who register using your MailPoet form?
