Subscribers not adding

    Hi,

    New subscribers are no longer being added to my Mailchimp mailing list after completing checkout. It used to work.

    I have read previous replies on this subject but they either didn’t apply to my settings or I didn’t understand them. For example, I have no idea what the ‘logging’ section is that has been referred to.

    My settings for the plug-in are:

    Enabled – yes
    Implicit – No
    Mailchimp list – checked
    Double opt-in -No
    Update existing subscribers- No

    I don’t know what the ‘update existing subscribers’ bit is for, so clarity on that would be helpful too

    I have now found the ‘logging’ section and changed it to say ‘everything’. There were no relevant errors showing up in the debug log.

    Update subscribers means that if en email is already in your list it will be updated with the information from the checkout form, if it’s set to no the subscriber data will be left alone as it’s already subscribed.

    Does that mean the subscribed details will only be updated if they are changed, or does it add the same customer multiple times to the list?

    Sorry for this very basic question!

    I’m not sure how I can share a link to show you what you mean- do you want a screenshot of the page?

    It will update the existing subscriber. It’s not possible to have the same email twice in 1 audience.

    You can just give me a link to the public part of your website where you have the form so I can test the form myself. Thanks

    Hey @fonzifuzz,

    Can you please go to the “MC4WP > Others” menu in WordPress and share with us any errors listed there?

    Thanks for asking this because no it didn’t!

    I’m not a developer so I find some of the techie stuff a bit daunting

    They have advised that I start a new thread though, so that’s what I’ll do.
