The subscription block no longer works correctly. It does work, one time. As an example, if [email protected] puts in his email address and subscribes, it works correctly. But from that time forward, the text area to put a new subscription will contain the previous email address instead of the placeholder text “Enter your email…” No matter where I have the subscription block, it still happens. I tried moving it to the bottom of each post, as a floating button, and other locations. It always keeps that last email address prefilled. I tried clearing the site cache and the browser cache.

The issue has been brought up twice this week where more than one person in the household wants to subscribe to blog posts. The only work around is to tell people they must use a different browser or a different device to register again.

Thank you for sharing the use case when this behavior causes bad user experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

A blog subscription is tied to the subscriber’s WordPress.com account and each account can have only one user/email. Once your new subscriber confirms the subscription, behind the scenes, they get logged into their WordPress.com account. That’s why their email is automatically assigned to the subscription form.

Right now, the workaround would be to:

I hope this clears things up, but please let me know if you have any further questions!

    Hi @gone2alpine,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
