2. “email if not confirmed” is not clear to me: if not confirmed (you probably are using the double opt in), that contact is never emailed with a newsletter

look at the main Newsletter options and check which dedicated page is set. If that page exists, try to open it from wordpress, you may have a folder named “newsletter” in your hosting space.
Try to change the page permalink.

OK, there was an newsletter.html. I deleted it.
And why all subscribers are listed as “confirmed” allthough no1 gets an eMail where they need to confirm their eMailadresses?
